LONGSANDS NEWS: Blackpool Airport...100yrs of flying!

I thought you might be interested to know......Blackpool International is celebrating 100 years of flying by creating its own 'people’s memory bank'. Blackpool apparently hosted Britain’s first official air show in October 1909 and as part of the centenary celebrations Blackpool International is asking everyone from passengers to pilots to share their memories of flying or working from Blackpool.
The history of flying from Blackpool is unique and historic - from the early days of the aviation pioneers, through the two world wars to the present day with thousands of passengers hopping on to flights from Blackpool to destinations such as Tenerife and Majorca – and the airport wants to capture memories for the benefit of future generations to read about over the next 100 years!.
Send your memories of flying from from Blackpool to us and we will post them here...or add a comment below yourself??
If you live in our locality contact us for details of travel and holiday options from Blackpool! Personal view...a trillion times easier and better than Manchester!! ...Bye for now...Russell

  1. Thank you Russell for your great review - that is the unique message I've been trying to get out to passengers from across Lancashire & the Lake District!! We appreciate all the loyal support we get and hope that our free parking offer (up to 15 days for all departing passengers), is well received and attracts more people to try Blackpool and our fast track enjoyable airport experience!
    With best regards
